Alex Stein

Alex Stein is an actor and artist in Chicago. He is passionate about collaborating on new plays, films, and projects that cross discipline. His approach emphasizes process, exploration, and play. He’s also a Chekhov nerd.

Stage credits include: The Steadfast Tin Soldier (Lookingglass Theatre Company), A Shayna Maidel (TimeLine Theatre Company), The New Sincerity (Theater Wit), A Night Out (A Red Orchid Theatre), The Merry Wives of Windsor (First Folio Theatre), among others with Trap Door, Collaboraction, and Erasing the Distance.

Screen credits include: Chicago PD (NBC Universal), En Plein Air (Telluride Film Festival / No Budge), World of Facts (Mill Valley Film Festival / Wisconsin FF), Death to Metal, Look Back, and Nacelle.

When not performing, Alex teaches playwriting in Chicago public high schools as part of Silk Road Rising’s outreach program. He holds a BA in theatre and performance studies from the University of Chicago.
