Amira Danan

Amira Danan is a Moroccan-American multi-hyphenate artist. After discovering acting at age eight through a community theatre production of Alice in Wonderland, her family began making trips to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which fostered her love of language. Later on, at Northwestern University, she studied Theatre, African-American Studies, Musical Theatre, and Playwriting. Past credits include: A Christmas Carol (Goodman Theatre), Bernhardt/Hamlet (Goodman Theatre), Comedy of Errors (Chicago Shakespeare), A Doll's House (Raven Theatre), and the world premiere of Ever in the Glades (Kennedy Center). Amira currently serves as Development Manager at Jackalope Theatre Company. In addition, she is a founding member of the Medina Theatre Collective, a company dedicated to bringing the stories of the SWANASA community to the forefront. In her spare time, you can find her developing rolls of film, drinking an iced chai, or seeking out the best conchigliette the city has to offer. She is proud to be represented by Gray Talent Group.
