Amy J. Carle
Amy J. Carle (AEA & SAG/AFTRA) has made her home in and around the Chicago theatre community for more than 20 years. She began her career with a troupe of graduates from Northwestern University in a company called Roadworks Productions (RIP 2007) – and joined the union (AEA) with a production of Hedda Gabler at Steppenwolf in 2001. Since that time, Amy has worked with many companies in the Chicago region, including The Goodman, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, The Court, Northlight, Profiles, Madison Rep., and Kansas City Rep., and continues to enjoy every minute of it. She has also spent time living in both LA (loved it) and NYC (LOVED IT), where she had the great fortune of booking 2 national tours, and performing in nearly every state in the union, from Hawaii to Maine with her co-star, Michele Shay, and slew of wonderful guest artists. Amy returned to Chicago in 2009, because it’s the best place to live and work as an actor – period – where she continues to study with her mentor, Maryann Thebus, whom she has been lucky enough to take class with since she was 21 years old. In her career she has worked with many wonderful directors, including Jessica Thebus, Robert Falls, Charlie Newell, BJ Jones and Doug Hughes, to name a few; and has shared the stage with many of Chicago’s wonderful actors, and hopefully made them all laugh. Amy has also appeared on many of the TV shows that Chicago and NYC have been happy to support: Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago Code, Boss, CRISIS, Law & Order and even the now defunct, Guiding Light. She offers private coaching, and teaches a scene study class.
