Bassam is a versatile, multi talented artist whose presence exudes gravitas and a calm intensity, and whose personality is charming and humorous. In addition to being a talented actor, his repertoire of skills includes the ability to perform many impersonations and accents, as well as singing, playing the guitar and the tabla (middle eastern drum similar to bongos) and being a skilled martial artist. His ethnically ambiguous look allows him to fit into many different roles, and he is fluent in the Arabic language and can also speak Spanish.
Bassam recently appeared in Showtime's The Chi and Amazon's Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. He has worked in the Chicago theatre scene with Silk Road Rising, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, and most recently starred as Imam Saleem in Steep Theatre Company's adaptation of Ayad Akhtar's The Invisible Hand.
If his career continues to progress at its current speed, Bassam is on his way to becoming a leading man in the very near future.
