Carly Meyer is currently making her Writer's Theatre debut in TREVOR the Musical. Based on the story that inspired the Academy Award-winning film, the charity and the national movement, this world premiere musical is directed by Marc Bruni, who helmed the Tony Award-winning production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on Broadway. Prior to being cast in in the world premiere production, Carly was also participated in the Reading/Lab Production of TREVOR.
Recently named Best Actress by Broadway in Chicago at the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards for her role as Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Carly earned the honor of performing as a medley soloist in New York at the Jimmy Awards on Broadway. This included a week long intensive training session with Broadway professionals like Michael McElroy(Sunday in the Park). Carly was also given the honor of performing the National Anthem to the 15,000+ crowd at Broadway in Chicago’s summer show at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. Other credits include Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors with Glenbrook North High School , Fiona in Shrek the Musical with The Performer’s School, Joanne in Godspell with Actor's Training Center, Mary in Secret Garden at the Lake Forest Theatre and Tanya in Bare: A Pop Opera with Another Door Theatre Project.
Currently studying voice under Winifred Brown, Carly is classically trained and prides herself with balancing classical repertoire as well as the belting style of contemporary musical theatre. Vocally, she was a featured performer in KIDZ ROC at the Clay Cooper Theater in Branson, Missouri and received the top honors in Sinfonietta Bel Canto Voice. She studies acting with Stacey Flaster, participates in the Acting Conservatory of Janet Louer, and dances (tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and ballet) with Annie Jo Ermel.
Carly is an honors student with a passion for science, animal rights, and nutrition. She is thrilled to be represented by Gray Talent Group.
