David Parkes

David is a company member of Timeline Theatre in which he has appeared most recently in BLOOD AND GIFTS, MY KIND OF TOWN, and A WALK IN THE WOODS. His other TimeLine credits include William McGeehan in NOT ENOUGH AIR, Christopher Trumbo in TRUMBO, Mr. Sartorius in WIDOWERS' HOUSES, Jim McFehren in HARMLESS, George Washington in THE GENERAL FROM AMERICA, Sir Thomas More in A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, Lambert LaRue in PRAVDA, Henry in THE LION IN WINTER, Martin Heidegger in HANNAH AND MARTIN (After Dark Award), Moe Axelrod in AWAKE AND SING! and John Proctor in THE CRUCIBLE, for which he received a Joseph Jefferson Citation nomination and an After Dark Award. He also performed the role of Tommy in HALCYON DAYS, Mr. Manningham in GASLIGHT and Warden Whalen in the Chicago premiere of Tennessee Williams' NOT ABOUT NIGHTINGALES (Non-Equity Jeff Award - Supporting Actor).

Other work in Chicago includes ELLA at Northlight Theatre; ONE ARM at Steppenwolf Theatre, directed by Moises Kaufman; and productions with American Theater Company, Eclipse Theatre, Apple Tree Theatre, Streetsigns, Footsteps Theatre, Greasy Joan & Co. and the Piven Theatre Workshop. Recent regional work includes BLACKBIRD (Everyman Theatre in Baltimore).

David earned an MFA degree from Florida State University's Asolo Conservatory, which included a month-long stint at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. He also received a BFA degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in conjunction with the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.

David's television credits include a guest starring appearance on A&E's THE BEAST, opposite Patrick Swayze, Fox Television's THE CHICAGO CODE, STARZ's BOSS with Kelsey Grammer, and NBC's upcoming series CHICAGO FIRE.
