Ebony Joy

Ebony Joy is a proud Chicago native who luckily was born into a family of art enthusiasts that encouraged her lifelong love for performing since her earliest childhood.
Some of her recent acting credits include: Forgotten Future (Collaboraction), Intimate Apparel (Eclipse Theatre), Spark (Adventure Stage Chicago), Rasheeda Speaking (Rivendell Theatre), Women at War (Rivendell Theatre), ForColored Girls... (FJT), WOZA ALBERT (FJT), ONE –The  Radio Play (POP Theatre Project), In Da Boogie Down (Urban Theatre Company), ALL RISE (Walkabout Theatre), Ceremonies in Dark Old Men (eta Creative Arts Foundation), A Matter of Time (The Neapolitans’), BODIES (MPAACT).
Ebony was the recipient of the 2013 Black Theatre Alliance Award for Outstanding Featured Actress and the 2012 Black Theatre Alliance Award for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role.
Ebony is also the playwright and director of numerous commissioned and original plays which have received readings, productions and awards throughout Chicago, New York City and Los Angeles.
Ebony was Executive Director for the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago and proudly served as Artistic Director for Evanston’s Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre 2004 - 2009 Seasons.
