Jalbelly Guzmán was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to two immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic. As a young girl, her mother was a flight attendant, so she was fortunate enough to be able to travel often to see her extended family in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico; also inspiring her immense love for travel at a young age. Jalbelly moved to Sarasota, Florida, at age 12 where she graduated high school and later attended Florida School of the Arts, and received her AA degree, and her AS in Musical Theatre. She then transferred to Roosevelt University, CCPA where she graduated this May with a BFA in Musical Theatre: Dance.
Jalbelly has an immense passion for seeing powerful stories come to life, but in particular Latinx and BIPOC work that amplify and uplift long neglected voices. She is a founding member of the "Mi Latinidad" collective, a group started from CCPA Latinx students eager to share our authentic voices.
In her spare time, Jalbelly likes to do yoga, play fetch with her cat, and enjoy a nice glass of red wine with her girlfriends.
