With her ability to adapt, reinvent and transform, Jaslene Gonzalez has seen recurrent success in the ever changing world of fashion, modeling and entertainment. Jaslene utilized her experience as the winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 8 to develop and refine her craft – and evolving into one of the fashion elite’s most sought-after faces. This beauty is living her dream, scoring a multitude of modeling campaigns, ranging from coveted cosmetics giant Cover Girl to Garnier Cosmetics, to covers of Ocean Drive, Seventeen, and Latina magazines.
Jaslene’s rise to fame as a leading top model is more than her natural beauty and talent – it is particularly marked by her passion and determination. Born and raised in Chicago, this All-American Latina of Puerto Rican descent harbored aspirations of modeling even as a pre-teen: “I’d be posing in front of the mirror in my room, staring at inspirational collages of super models on my walls,” she reveals.
Taking her cues from Gisele Bundchen, Liya Kebede and Tyra Banks, the ever-rising star has studied and embraced the journey to becoming a Supermodel. Jaslene asserts, “You’ve got to live it, breathe it, feel it. Modeling is an art form and I am an artist. I take my work very seriously.”
In September 2009, Jaslene transcended the modeling industries of North America and embarked on an international tour of Malaysia, Thailand, Honduras and India. While overseas, she had the honor of walking the runway for the King and Queen of Malaysia in the heralded Islamic Fashion Week. She also amassed numerous print covers and editorials, including Faces, EH!, Marie Claire, ELLE Magazine and even VOGUE India. “The experience was transformative. I was exposed to so many vastly different perceptions of beauty and fashion,” Jaslene reveals. “I was overwhelmingly honored to be a part of it.” After returning to the states in June 2012, she immediately signed with Ford in Miami as a top model on both their modeling and on-air talent boards. She is now based out of Los Angeles, where she is pursuing acting. Jaslene made her professional theater debut in 2016, appeared in The King and I at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She was most recently seen playing the role of (Jocelyn) in the world premiere play “Sycamore” at the Raven Theatre in Chicago. She has been frequently on television, with credits including Chicago Fire, America’s Next Top Model: obsessed, The View, The Tyra Banks Show, Project Runway, Total Request Live, and Jensen! (for RTL 5 in The Netherlands). She has also appeared in commercials for Covergirl and the Illinois Lottery; in several music videos, among them Aventura’s “Por Un Segundo,” and Ryan Leslie’s “Addiction.” Her work in film includes Nothing like the Holidays and in the upcoming film Death Wish (directed by EJ Foerster). Jaslene is represented by Gray Talent Group.
As Jaslene redefines the essence of the supermodel, she remains hungry for continued success – and being true to herself. She looks forward to perfecting her craft as a model and on-camera personality, but also to extending her reach beyond magazine covers and runway lights. A confident businesswoman, Jaslene realizes the power of giving back as she molds herself into an entrepreneur. She works tirelessly on causes that revolves around empowering young women against domestic violence, fostering self love, and building inner confidence.
