Jennifer Grace

Jennifer Grace has been acting professionally for two decades. As an original company member of the critically-acclaimed Chicago theatre company, The Hypocrites, she enjoyed success in roles such as Jacqueline in JACK, OR THE SUBMISSION, Chloe in ARCADIA, Mrs. Jacobson/Tecmessa/Agamemnon in Sean Graney’s adaptation of AJAX, Ann in BALM IN GILEAD, The Angel in ANGEL’S IN AMERICA, and Maggie in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. Other Chicago companies that she’s worked with include Factory, Griffin, Theatre Wit and Court Theatre.

In 2008, Jennifer won the After Dark award for her portrayal of Emily Webb in David Cromer’s revelatory production of OUR TOWN with The Hypocrites. The following year, she reprised her role in this production in the Off-Broadway run of OUR TOWN at the Barrow Street Theatre in New York, for which she won a Theatre World Award for Best Off-Broadway Debut. With a one year and nine month run, this production remains the longest-running incarnation of OUR TOWN in history. Jennifer has played Emily Webb for more performances than any other actor, at approximately 750 performances, working alongside acclaimed actors Helen Hunt, Michael McKean, Ann Dowd, Michael Shannon, Jason Butler Harner and Stephen Kunken.

During her tenure in New York, Jennifer also performed regularly at Upright Citizen’s Brigade, doing a monthly improv show called “Gravid Water,” with actors and comedians of note such as Mike Birbiglia, Scott Adsit, Rachel Dratch, Jason Sudeikis, Matt Walsh, Chris Sullivan, Cristin Milioti, Amy Poehler, Michael Cera, and David Cross. She also - along with her in utero son - starred in the world premiere of Richard Nelson’s play NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS at Lincoln Center, along with Michael Cerveris, John Glover, Blair Brown and Kathryn Erbe.

Jennifer starred in the feature film THE CASSEROLE CLUB, for which she was nominated for Vision Fest’s 2011 Jack Nance Breakthrough Performance Award. She appeared opposite Juliette Lewis in the feature KELLY & CAL, and opposite Tony Award winner Len Cariou in the short film THE ESCAPE. Television roles include “Inside Amy Schumer,” “Billions,” “Chicago P.D.” and a recurring role as a journalist on “VEEP.” Jennifer is also a professional audiobook narrator who has narrated dozens of books, including AMERICAN GIRLS, by Alison Umminger, which was recognized as one of the best audiobooks of 2016 by Audiofile Magazine.

Jennifer is a mother, a widow, a vegetable gardener and ukulele player.
