Joel Gelman is an affable weirdo from the Midwest who would give you the sweater off his back. He’s played nice guys, douche bags and confused cops on TV alongside actors like Ty Burrell on Modern Family and Zooey Deschanel on New Girl. He’s shared the stage with some theatre legends at La Jolla Playhouse and The Hollywood Bowl. He loves making people laugh. Comedy is definitely his bread and butter, as is well…bread and butter (the French kinds). TV credits: Modern Family, New Girl, The Newsroom, Wolf Boy and the Everything Factory, The Mighty Ones, The Brink, Vegas, The Young and the Restless, Henry Danger, and In Gayle We Trust. Selected theatrical credits: Sense and Sensibility at South Coast Repertory, Amy and the Orphans with Roundabout, Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl, Tobacco Road at La Jolla Playhouse, A Midsummer Nights Dream at Portland Center Stage. MFA: UC San Diego, BA: Western Michigan University.
