Kenny the Bearded
A native of Eastern Kentucky, Kenny the Bearded was drawn to performing at a young age. After being chastised for ruining numerous church Christmas plays, his parents quickly realized that they needed to find a creative outlet for their precocious man-sized child if they wanted to remain on speaking terms with the congregation. And their relatives.
Once Kenny discovered the stage, he knew that he'd found his destiny.
Studying theatre and acting at Kentucky's premier university, Morehead State, The Bearded soon found himself traversing the Bluegrass, chasing a dream and living life on his terms. While living out his vagabond fantasy across the South, Kenny performed in a myriad of productions, notably as 'Lewis' in Red Lion Theatre's production of Pippin in Ashland, Kentucky and as 'Wiley Hicks' in the play Dearly Beloved with Carriage House Theatre in Lexington, Kentucky.
In 2013, Kenny turned his sights on Chicago to begin studying comedy and improvisation at The Second City and iO Chicago. His work at the famed institutions helped him develop his persona and his size and prolific beard helped him begin to garner work across the city.
Recent credits for Mr. the Bearded, colloquially known to close friends as KtB, include the antagonist 'Caesar' in the original musical 'Sheeps on the Lamb', an ensemble member in projectBROADWAY and principal roles in commercials for George Foreman Grills and Sears.
When he's not on stage or in front of the camera, Kenny can be found doing things and eating stuff in places where one does those things.
