Michael Brown

Originally from Kansas, Michael moved to Chicago to continue his vocal studies at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. He graduated in 2006 and then spent two years as a young artist with Chicago Opera Theatre. Michael has performed many operatic roles including Guglielmo in Motzart's Cosi fan tutte, Schaunard in Puccini's La Boheme, and Bob in Meotti's The Old Maid and the Theif. As a soloist, he has sung the Faure Requiem, Bach's Magnificat and Handel's Messiah, as well as the English premier of Kurt Weil's The Seven Deadly Sins with Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra. An avid choral singer, he sings with Chicago Symphony Chorus, Grant Park Chorus, the William Ferris Chorale, and Bella Voices.

Most recently Michael performed the role of Tommy in Brigadoon with Music by the Lake in Williams Bay, WI. Other recent credits include work with Light Opera Works, Chicago Opera Vanguard, and Bowen Park Opera.

Michael currently teaches voice and music theory at Trinity Christian College. He holds a BM in voice from the University of Kansas, and an MM and PD in voice from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
