Michael Kingston has been in Chicago for over 20 years. He is currently rehearsing BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL for Griffin Theatre. Earlier in 2016, Michael transformed into Edna Turnblad for Paramount Theatre’s production of HAIRSPRAY. He completed his first North American tour in 2015, playing Harry in FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL. He has appeared on CHICAGO FIRE (Building Engineer) and CHICAGO P.D. (Mr. Cummings), as well as portraying Robert in The Onion/Clickhole Video’s THE WORST JOB I EVER HAD. Michael has received two Jeff Nominations: Supporting Actor in a Musical – Morris - TimeLine Theatre’s FIORELLO!, and Supporting Actor in a Musical - Charlemagne/Berthe - Bohemian Theatre Ensemble’s PIPPIN. He has lent his voice, understudied, or performed in 15 TimeLine Theatre Company shows, including THE CRADLE WILL ROCK, GUANTANAMO: HONOR BOUND TO DEFEND FREEDOM, PARADISE LOST, FIORELLO! (Jeff Award - Best Musical), THE HISTORY BOYS (Jeff Award – Best Equity Production – Midsize), PARADISE LOST, THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION (Jeff Award – Best Equity Production – Midsize), THE FRONT PAGE (Jeff Nomination – Ensemble) and 33 VARIATIONS (Jeff Award – Best Equity Production – Midsize). He has created three cabaret shows: PAPA, CAN YOU HEAR ME? (Songs of Fathers and Sons), 50WHATEVER, SINGINGWHATEVER, and HARRY TAKES A HOLIDAY (Musings of the Flashdance Tour). Other favorites include Larry in Porchlight Music Theatre’s COMPANY, Georges in Boho’s LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, Signor Naccarelli in Theo Ubique’s THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA (Winner of 6 – 2012 Jeff Awards, including Best Musical), Captain Hook in Emerald City’s PETER PAN, Big Harp in Griffin Theatre’s THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, and THE LAST TWO MINUTES OF THE COMPLETE WORKS OF HENRIK IBSEN for the Neo Futurists (the latter being a participant in the 2005 New York Fringe Festival).
