Nelson grew up in the outskirts of suburban Atlanta and the foothills of the Appalachians where he also earned his BA in Theatre from Brenau University. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with an MFA in Acting in 2011 and moved to Chicago.
As a proud Artistic Associate at Pride Films and Plays, Nelson’s credits include Angry Fags, The Bachelors, and the upcoming The Children’s Hour. He is also a founding member of Jubilee Theatre Collective.
Other Chicago credits include Lydia and References to Salvador Dalí Make Me Hot with National Pastime Theatre, Tea With Edie and Fitz with Dead Writers Theatre Collective, Puto with UrbanTheatre Company, Six Degrees of Separation with Eclectic Full Contact Theatre, The Rover with 20% Theatre Company, and continuous work with Adventure Stage Chicago.
