Robert Salazar is joyously active in Chicago's creative scene, currently playing Robert Smith in Que Gente, Mi Gente and in Los Secretos de Santa Monica, a Spanglish radio novella and its traveling stage counterpart, both produced by Family Bridges, a Latino community building organization. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking household, this work is very important to Robert.
In Chicago, Robert has also acted with the New Colony, Jackalope, Piven, Eclectic and Citadel theaters. He has held artistic residencies with the Drinking & Writing Theater (ex-Neo-Futurists) and with Halcyon Theater. In 2015, his original solo show My Billions. Mine. opened at the Scranton Fringe Festival. His screen credits include Hope Springs Eternal, Convergence, The Living End and commercials for QuikTrip, AT & T, TEK Systems, and CareerBuilder.
Also a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter, Robert currently plays in a four-piece art rock band, Robertito Salazar, and an indie comedy duo, Boo Baby, currently performing regularly at the Improv Olympic.
