Originally from California, Rom has BS degrees in both Film making and Theatre Production from Montana State University and has been living and acting in Chicago since 1999. While most of that time has been spent in theatrical productions, he has also worked in film, television, voiceovers, video games, print and industrials. In television he was most recently seen in the short lived Chicago Justice tv series. He also appeared in season two of Chicago Fire and has appeared in episodes of Mind Games, Boss, and The Beast. This Spring Rom will appear in the independent feature, Canal Street and is shooting a short Sci-Fi thriller called Abi.
Rom was nominated for best actor in an Equity play for his work the A Red Orchid theatre production, In a Garden by Howard Korder (Boardwalk Empire) and for an Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Award for Best Supporting Actor in "The Who and the What" at Huntington theatre Co. in Boston. Rom has worked with many theatres in Chicago over the years, notably, The Goodman, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Lifeline, Timeline, Eclipse (company member for two years), Steep, Griffin, Vitalist, Greasy Joan (company member for two years), Trap Door, City Lit, and Writer’s theatre. Regionally, Rom has worked at Baltimore Stage, Kansas City Rep., Huntington theatre Co. and Virginia Stage Co.
Some of his favorite productions include Around the World in 80 days at Lookingglass Theatre, Mother Courage and her Children and The Three Lives of Lucie Cabrol, at Vitalist Theatre, Halcyon Days, and Not About Nightingales at Timeline Theatre and most recently, pulitzer prize winner, Disgraced at Virginia Stage Co.
