Sam Krey is an actor and performer based primarily out of Chicago, and he is a proud BFA graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University. His most recent Chicago credits include Blind Date at The Goodman Theatre, Ghosts of War with Griffin Theatre, and Captain Blood at First Folio Theatre. He has also understudied such shows Twelfth Night at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, The Last Wife at Timeline Theatre, and Ideation at Jackalope Theatre. Sam grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota where he spent 10 years training and performing with Circus Juventas. Sam was involved in 9 of their original annual summer shows, including being cast in three leading roles. He is also proud to hold the rank of Advanced Actor Combatant with the SAFD. Growing up with “saw-dust in his veins” Sam has developed a particular love and an acute skill for his work in re-imaging the spectacular. The classical conservatory training he received combined with his acrobatic and stunt background has enabled him to bring such shows as Metamorphosis, The Phantom Tollbooth, and Peter Pan and Wendy to life in new and meaningful ways. When Sam is not onstage you can find him playing his guitar, snowboarding on the nearest mountain, or wakeboarding on the nearest lake.
