Sophie Kaegi is excited to join Gray Talent Group. At the age of 3, Sophie was able to sing the entire score of Cats the Musical, and it was then that her family had a feeling they had a performer on their hands. At the age of 5, she started acting in a local theatre group. She takes private coaching and currently takes voice lessons with Mary LeGere. She went on to perform in her first professional show at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre as Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol, where she won the 2016 BroadwayWorld Chicago Award for Best Actress in a Play. She performed in Ravinia’s production of Winnie the Pooh as Roo. She joined The Performer’s School Ensemble for its 2016-2017 season.
In April 2017, she performed in Ruthless, the Musical! as Tina Denmark at Steel Beam Theatre in St Charles, IL. Most recently she played the role of Olive Hoover in the regional premiere of Little Miss Sunshine at Chicago Theatre Workshop. During the run she received critical acclaim, where one of her many reviews noted, “[that] you get a truly terrific leading kid in Sophie Kaegi, who is funny, charming, a fine young vocalist and spectacularly unafraid (Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune).”
Finishing out 2017, Sophie has been cast in Gypsy at Music Theatre Works as Baby June (August 2017), and Elf the Musical at the Paramount Theatre Aurora (Winter 2017).
Sophie has a wonderful ability to memorize material very quickly, acts from the heart, and puts her soul into each performance. She is funny, spunky, loving, and very professional. When not on stage, you can find Sophie singing around the house and spending time with friends and family. Sophie enjoys gymnastics, swimming, running, and dancing.
