After graduating from Northwestern's theatre department, Toby spent four years dancing in professional musicals, such as Guys and Dolls with Tony Bennett and the Music Man with Van Johnson. A "steadier" job led to thirty years as a dance and drama instructor at New Trier High School. Along the way, he choreographed several musicals in Chicago including RSVP Broadway and The Three Musketeers (an eight hour version). Now retired, Toby works as a volunteer at the Children's Theatre of Winnetka and for various local school projects. He acts in Chicago professional non-Equity theatres and recently was a homeless man rescued from a burning in Chicago Fire. Whew.
