Born in South India and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Vinithra grew up with a passion for the performing arts. As a classically trained Indian dancer, she started performing professionally in her early teens, drawn to the theatrical component of acting out epic tales from her rich Hindu culture. She also trained in classical Indian voice before transitioning to Western voice in high school, becoming an All-State Soprano. After focusing academically in biomedical engineering and working as a software developer, she realized she was deeply missing an avenue for self-expression and rediscovered her passion for acting.
Recently, Vinithra has originated roles in two plays and starred in two short films, one of which received Best Ensemble from the Milwaukee Short Film Festival. She greatly values continuous training, taking classes at The Second City, The Green Room Studio, and Acting Studio Chicago. She hopes to continue to grow as an actor and is thrilled to work with the Gray Talent team. Alongside her acting dreams, she eventually hopes to start a program for immersing underprivileged girls in STEM and the arts. In her free time, she enjoys teaching herself the guitar, hanging out at museums, and crossing places off her travel bucket list.
