CINDY CHANG, born in Seoul, Korea and raised in the Southwest suburbs of
Chicago
, graduated with a B.A. in Speech Communications, Pre-law from the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  As an immigrant, Cindy was
raised to obey her parents' wishes and going to law school or getting a PhD
was their dream.  While studying and working in the corporate world, it became
clear that Cindy could not live out her parents' dreams, as well-intended as
they were - she had to live her dreams, her passions, her convictions - and
for one, her true career calling was the performing arts.  Cindy has been
able to sing operatically ever since before the age of 8.  After working and
earning enough of her own money, she used that money to work hard, train
hard and became a classically trained opera singer.  In fact, Cindy is that
rare classically trained singer who can also belt!  Cindy has a strong
acting background as well as a strong singing background and is a also a
Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

You can see Cindy as "Madame Kang" in the film Baby on Board directed by
Brian Herzlinger (My Date With Drew) and starring Heather GrahamJerry O'Connell
John CorbettKatie Finneran, and Lara Flynn Boyle.  Cindy has also appeared
in many industrials and commercials, including a national Sears commercial, and a
commercial for Evanston Northwestern Hospitals/Northshore Health Systems that is
airing presently in the Chicago area. Theatre and stage credits, to name a few, include:
Sister Joy Luck in the world premiere of Asphalt Beach (AMTP) (in which Cindy also sings
on the Original Cast Recording of Asphalt Beach, Music & Lyrics by Andrew Lippa);
Finian's Rainbow (Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre); Sandman/Dew Fairy in
Hansel & Gretel (Pamiro Opera); Chloe in Beautiful Helen of Troy (Light Opera Works),
Kate in Yeomen of the Guard (Light Opera Works), Janine, plus Clementina Understudy
in The Desert Song (Light Opera Works), Mary Understudy and Jou Jou in the
American premiere of The Duchess of Chicago (Light Opera Works), Frou Frou
in The Merry Widow (Light Opera Works), HMS Pinafore (Light Opera Works);
Constance in The Sorcerer (The Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company); Sally the
Cheerleader in The Navy Pier Players; showcase at the Actor's Playhouse in
New York; and soloist for The Korean Oratorio Society of Chicago.

Knowing where she came from, how far she has come, and how far she knows she
has yet to go, Cindy is very thankful to be a part of this crazy and wonderful industry,
and to be able to do what she loves to do.

Cindy currently lives in Northwest Indiana with her husband, Jeff, and their
three dogs.  "My dogs are my babies and my world!  I absolutely LOVE dogs and
would have more if my husband would let me!"
