Ericka has been singing and dancing ever since she was a little girl in Canton, Michigan. She started taking ballet classes when she was six years old (with an emphasis on the Cecchetti Method) and expanded her repertoire to include pointe, pas de deux, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, Fosse, and folk dancing. She also enjoyed singing in her church choir which led her to be selected to sing for The Pope's visit to Detroit in 1987. Although Ericka was on the fast track to becoming a ballerina, she auditioned for her first musical in high school and quickly decided to turn her energy towards that.

After 4 years of high school theatre (where she starred in and choreographed most of the shows), Ericka landed three scholarships to Western Michigan University (2 for theatre/ 1 for academics) and her first professional summer stock job. In college, Ericka  performed everything from modern dance pieces, to musicals, to Greek comedies and Shakespeare, as well as choreographing and directing. Ericka graduated from WMU with a double major (BFA in Dance Performance and BFA in Musical Theatre Performance (Presidential Scholar) in 3 years! Now THAT's multitasking!

In 1999, after performing in regional theatres across the country, Ericka decided to settle down in Chicago where she has established herself in the theatre community,  performing such roles as: "Helene" in Sweet Charity and "Lucy" in Your A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Drury Lane Oakbrook); "Morales" in A Chorus Line and the only female in Jolson and Co., (where she played nine different roles including "Ruby Keeler" and the legendary "Mae West") at Theatre at the Center.  Ericka has been in 15 productions at the Marriott Theatre (where she has become the resident Dance Captain) and 2 seasons of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the Rosemont Theatre. She continues to choreograph for high schools, colleges, and trade shows and has recently become an Adjunct Professor of Dance at Elmhurst college. In her "free" time, Ericka enjoys yoga, playing guitar and writing songs, and her various memberships to animal welfare groups.
