Jeannie Affelder has been acting since she was a little girl, and she grew up spending many happy Saturday mornings at the Cleveland Play House. Theatre has been a constant in her life amidst wonderful detours: researching and writing about international relations; producing, directing, and broadcasting on public radio; and parenting three sons with her loving husband, Jeff.
Jeannie has been lucky enough to perform with great theatres (Writer’s Theatre, Boston Shakespeare, Court Theatre, City Lit, Bailiwick Repertory, TimeLine Theatre Company) and great directors (Bill Rauch, Peter Sellars, Joann Green Breuer, Nick Bowling, and William Brown) and to have originated two roles in premiere productions: Lucy in Lynda Barry’s The Good Times Are Killing Me, and Simca in Bill Brown and Doug Frew’s To Master The Art.
When not on stage, she enjoys watching her sons on stage, exercising, practicing yoga, cooking, and digging in the garden.
