Maya Boudreau is a tireless and inventive performer. She graduated with a BFA in Theatre with honors from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in just three years.
Maya grew up in a small town in Illinois. It was here that Maya developed a strong sense of who she was. From a young age, Maya was involved in community and school theatrical productions. At age fourteen, Maya and her parents moved to Chicago where she went to Walter Payton College Prep High School. While living in Chicago, Maya took advantage of every cultural experience that she could. Chicago became her home. Maya had the honor of studying and performing with such prestigious and innovative companies as Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Lookingglass Theatre, The Second City, American Theatre Company and Piven Theatre Workshop, among others.
When it came time for college, she chose to study drama at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. While at NYU, Maya trained for two years at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, studying acting, directing, movement, design, and vocal technique as well as theatre management. During her time at Playwrights, she studied acting under Theater Mitu founder Rubén Polendo as well as actors such as Elizabeth Hess, Theresa McCarthy, Maggie Low and Michael Potts.
Her final year at NYU was spent at Stonestreet Studios where she studied film/tv, commercial, soap opera, and sit-com technique as well as scene study classes with the head of the studio, Gary Bennett. During her time at NYU, Maya originated the role of Anemone in the debut of Christopher Chan’s “Anemone: Post-Tiger” directed by Gerritt Turner, which premiered at Playwrights Horizons Peter Jay Sharpe Theater on 42nd Street.
