Will Zahrn came to Chicago from rural Indiana to study at The Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University on the G.I. Bill. After graduating from The Theatre School, Will quickly found his niche in the burgeoning Chicago theater scene, garnering a Jefferson Citation in his professional debut for his work as Teddy in Mark Medoff's When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder? at Next Theatre. He earned his Actor's Equity card shortly thereafter in Gary Sinise's production of the Vietnam War drama Tracers at Steppenwolf. Will then became a member of the Remains Theatre Ensemble, joining William J. Petersen, Amy Morton, D.W. Moffet, Gary Cole, Natalie West and Ted Levine to create vibrant productions that characterized the "Chicago Style" in the '80's and '90's. After the disbanding of Remains, Will found work at many of Chicago resident theaters as well as regional venues from Weston, VT. to Cedar City,Ut., where he recently got his first taste of Shakespeare well into his 50's. Will earned his Screen Actors Guild card in British director Bryan Forbes' treatment of Sidney Sheldon's The Naked Face in 1983 and has since worked with such varied directors as Brian DePalma, Christopher Nolan, Woody Allen, Hector Babenco, Gore Verbinski, Curtis Hanson and Dustin Lance Black. Away from the grind, Will enjoys drinking coffee, taking walks and watching films with his wife,Sandra. Other interests include reading, crosswords and golf.
