Ariel Etana Triunfo
Ariel Etana Triunfo is a Chicago-based actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, writer, and performer. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she graduated with a high school diploma from Nevada Connections Academy as Valedictorian of her class, and received a B. A. in Musical Theatre from Columbia College Chicago, where she graduated summa cum laude. Ariel was a 2018 recipient of the Diversity and Inclusion Award and the Jim Jacobs Musical Theatre Scholarship, and a 2019 recipient of the David Talbott Cox Scholarship and the Sheldon Patinkin Award. In 2018, Ariel was one of 24 artists selected from around the world for the Musical Theatre Dance Program at Jacob’s Pillow, and was the 2018 recipient of the Lorna Strassler Award for Student Excellence.
Ariel danced professionally with Nevada Ballet Theatre under the direction of James Canfield, and made her Chicago theatre debut in Porchlight Music Theatre's Jeff Award-winning production of Gypsy as an ensemble member and the Dance Captain. In addition to performing around the city, Ariel has choreographed for several theatre companies in Chicago; most recently, for Music Theater Works’ 2021 production of Ragtime. She has also choreographed for Utah Festival Opera, Nevada Ballet Theatre in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, the MODAS Dance Training Program in Santa Fe, NM, and Columbia College Chicago.
