Denzel Tsopnang

Raised in the Chicago suburbs, Denzel is a graduate of Millikin University with a BFA in Musical Theatre. He made his Chicago debut with Griffin Theatre's Jeff Nominated Balm in Gilead and since then, has had the pleasure of working with many other Chicago theatres such as Windy City Playhouse, Theater at the Center, Light (Music) Theatre Works, American Blues Theater, Chicago Dramatists, BoHo Theatre, Court Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook and The Marriott Lincolnshire. Some of his favorite credits include:
Mr. Bones in the Chicago premiere and Jeff Award Winning production of The Scottsboro Boys (Porchlight Music Theatre) and then Mr. Tambo in MTI's first National Pilot of Scottsboro Boys, Coalhouse Walker Jr in Ragtime (Griffin Theatre); for which he was nominated for Best Principal Actor in a Musical, Apollo Singer in The Buddy Holly Story (American Blues Theater) and Subway Ghost in Ghost the Musical (Peninsula Players). Denzel is an Artistic Affiliate with American Blues Theater. He was also a featured soloist in Porchlight's 2017 Icons Gala in honor of Lonny Price and the late Rachel Rockwell. You can catch Denzel on the road as the Principal Standby in the 1st National Tour of the Tony Award winning, Moulin Rouge! the Musical.
