Maliha Sayed
I am a MENASA actor, singer, writer, activist, and prospective director from Chicago, IL. I’ve been performing since the age of eight, and began studying voice when I was ten. My love for music and storytelling carried me through my adolescence, only strengthening in interest as I discovered the power art has to change the world. It brought me so much joy, that I decided to make a career out of it! I am currently based in Chicago, having just graduated with my BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College.
I want to utilize theatre to help enhance the representation of Muslim, Middle Eastern, and South Asian artists. I’d like to use performance as a tool to alter public mindsets, and mend the gap of inequality that has historically bound our communities. I also want to center my art around the representation and uplifting of BIPOC, trans, and queer individuals.
