Will Wilhelm is a trans/non-binary actor based in Chicago, IL. Regional credits include: Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where they reimagined genderqueer characters in Oklahoma!, As You Like It, and Macbeth; Portland Center Stage (RENT) and Book-It Repertory (In the Time of the Butterflies). Chicago highlights include The Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci (Goodman Theatre), adapted and directed by Mary Zimmerman; Straight White Men (Steppenwolf Theatre), written and directed by Young Jean Lee; Mr. Burns: a post-electric play (Theater Wit); and RENT (Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, for which Will received a BroadwayWorld Chicago Award for Best Actor in a Musical for their first performance as Angel. They have also had the pleasure of working with Victory Gardens, Northlight Theatre, Teatro Vista, About Face Theatre, American Theater Company, Chicago Children's Theatre, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. They received their training at Northwestern University.
Will is also an educator and writer. Their debut solo show, Gender Play: or what you Will will have its world premiere produced by About Face Theatre in 2023.
In their free time, they enjoy board game nights, dancing in their collection of platform heels, and eating the gender binary for breakfast.
