Tanya Thai McBride

Lauded as "a delightfully feisty actress" by The New York Times, Tanya Thai McBride is known for creating physically dynamic characters with great heart. Tanya was most recently seen at The Old Globe playing "Greenie" in Mary Zimmerman's The White Snake, finishing a three-year tour in a role she originated at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She is now working on Regina Taylor'sstop.reset. at the Goodman Theatre.
Tanya received her M.F.A. in Acting/New Works Creation at The Ohio State University. There she studied classical theatre as well as new work development with professionals such as SITI Company, Royal Court Theatre, and Goat Island. Tanya is an avid dancer, which led her to study and teach Laban, Viewpoints and Suzuki. She has also studied physical performance with Daniel Stein at the Dell'Arte School of Physical Theatre.
Tanya has appeared with The Old Globe, Guthrie Theater, Goodman Theatre, McCarter Theatre Center, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Other Theatre Co., Silk Road Rising, Pavement Group, Steppenwolf Garage Rep, The Neo-Futurists, AdventureStage Chicago, Collaboraction, Chicago Dramatists, Polarity Ensemble, Caffeine Theatre, and Redmoon Theater. TV credits include Chicago P.D., and she can be seen in the independent feature film, Chrysalis.
Tanya will watch anything starring Lily Tomlin or Judi Dench. Above all she loves to tell stories, make you laugh, and feel all the feelings.
